'Unconditional' Illustration Series

I’ve found myself making work recently based in portraiture, thinking about people who have made a positive impact on those they encounter and support. One of the first pieces made in this collection was ‘Unconditional’. All too often we see division instead of people showing each other compassion, respect and love and this is something which I’ve felt the need to respond to by making a new collection of work.

As I explored how ink & pen drawing could be combined, I made a colour series which included ‘Passing Storms’ which was taken from the challenging times we can face at different points in our life and how even in the heart of the storm you can hold onto hope that calm will come. 

Unfortunately, we are all too aware of the pain and hurt in today’s world and I hope that we can choose to stand up and reach out in love. ‘Found Family’ is for those who have found themselves facing hate and not the love they should have.
